Too much shit being written guys & dolls.
Muse & radiohead there are no comparisons.
I’ve seen them both live & there both pretty fucking amazing!
Wake up!
Absolutely agree! Their willingness to break new ground is what makes Radiohead such a firm favourite of mine. I love stuff like OK Computer, but the new influences that have come into their work since OKC are always fascinating to me. I still find new and interesting stuff in Kid A, Hail to the Thief, and In Rainbows, even after hundreds of listens.
Yeah, I definitely enjoyed the first two Muse albums as well; I just don’t know if I’d describe them as original. But I can’t deny there’s some good stuff on both.
@FidoDido1980 one interesting thing about radiohead is they transcend their genre of music. for example i really don’t like most rock music and yet i love radiohead. they do so many interesting experimental things and are influenced by other genres of music like electronic, jazz, classical, folk, etc so even for someone like me who usually doesnt even like rock bands i end up loving them. muse on the other hand is firmly planted within the genre of rock music.
Muse imo seem empty I don’t no why but I just dont really care about them not to say their bad but radiohead are genius I think this is what muse want to sound like but don’t know how.
at exactly 5:45 (just before he starts the really demented noises!) thom says something that sounds very remotely like ‘old tongue of beef ‘ (i know that’s not it!) can anyone work out what he says?
@FidoDido1980 personally i think the 1st 2 muse albums are superb, especially showbiz which is very original & i can’t survive without listening to it at least once a week. also… listen very carefully to jeff buckley… ‘cos he doesn’t actually sing falsetto, it’s almost unbelieveable but it’s true!
“Muse are a fantastic band, they’re first two albums were impressive displays of originality.?”
With respect, you sure about that?
Anyway, groan at this debate. I can name ten bands more like Muse than Radiohead, and vice versa. Stylistically they’re miles apart from one another now, and were roughly similar for about, ooh, one album. The fact that two singers use a Jeff Buckley-esque falsetto does not make two bands similar.
Muse are a fantastic band, they’re first two albums were impressive displays of originality. After that it became a little more generic. Radiohead and Muse have two totally different styles. Muse is all about energy while Radiohead’s music is surreal-ish. I’m gonna say here that Muse probably have more raw talent (Matt Bellamy could shred Johnny’s pants off, same goes for Dom and Phil) but Thom Yorke is lightyears ahead in terms of songwriting.
@chris2222 Yeah.. we can say.. we can say that everything is relative.. but still.. if u’re listening a perfectly chiselled, harmonic Radiohead song, and a virtuoso, “too twisted” (and sometimes with unnecessarily high voice) Muse song.. even if you’re trying to see it relatively you’ll see the difference.
I’m not saying Muse is bad. They’re talented and creative… they’re just not geniuses.. like Thom Yorke.
@bigdunk9 that is one of the biggest insult i have ever read on youtube.Muse in no way will fade in 10 years. Both Muse and Radiohead will go down in history. They both are great in different ways. It is purely your opinion that OK computer is dimensions above Muse’s best album. In no way is one album musically better than the other, both display alot of creativity from both bands. There is no good or bad music there is only what u prefer.
@scobiedog1 HAHAHAHAHAH
how do they do that bumble be sound? O__o its amazing..
itsa pink floyd all over again
They have the tightest live sound ever.
Epic.
What a live performance. How many other bands could nail it that tight

@chojuancho but matt doesn’t have the squinty eye
i like radiohead because they’re good…….
I like Radiohead because they do different things with the styles man, Muse sound the same and so does everyboy else….!
I wish other bands would put a bit more into it, you know what I mean?
I suppose it’s genuine people making original music with original relating lyrics compared to the shit we get in the shitty charts these days..

@FidoDido1980 i agree with you, the fact that two bands uses falssetto don’t makes’em similar.

OPINIONS, OPINIONS EVERYWHERE.
@LibraHorse1 fuck muse i never got a kick out of that
173 people were too stoned on creative euphoria to distinguish the difference between up and down
the next person to make a muse vs raidohead argument is gay.
