there is only one google phone actually made by google this is not the google phone it is the first phone with the google operating system. but it is not the google phone. the google nexus one is the actual google phone and my fav phone of all time!!! im gettin that!!! and it’s much higher tech than this g1 even though g1 was really cool for 2008 and 2009 but now………..it’s laying low but i love both phones!!!!
can the google phone have a signer when you text/?
@defcon2XX8 G1 doesnt exist
@unrealjeff
I know, but there is no difference. HTC didn’t change anything. The lagginess is due to android being a underdeveloped OS. Too many bugs, etc. Its nice to see how much of a long way they’ve gone.
@asianoutcast87 You are right it doesn’t have HTC sense. But the maker of the Tmobile G1 is HTC.
@asianoutcast87
Yeah, why am I doubting myself. It doesn’t have htc sense. It is stock android and google is culpable for it being laggy because HTC sense is not there to slow it down.
@unrealjeff
and I’m pretty sure it didn’t have HTC sense. Correct me if I’m wrong though.
@asianoutcast87 The phone itself wasn’t made by google though, it was made by HTC.
@unrealjeff
Of course they had stuff to lose. I’m telling you, this has nothing to do with open-source or not. If the OS is unpolished, no phone company would’ve adopted it, and that equals loss. It was only after android got its act together that phone companies actually adopted the device, and that is when open-source kicks in with different skins, etc.
@asianoutcast87 Lose** lol
@asianoutcast87 But since it was open source google had nothing to loose.
@unrealjeff
wut are you talking about? It doesn’t matter if an OS is open source or not. Google develops and polishes the android. Outside factors do not have anything to do with how Google polishes the fluidity, etc. The G1 runs on stock android too, so there is no excuse for the lack of fluidity. Either way, android has come a long way, and maybe it was the right time to enter the market even if their OS was not polished.
@asianoutcast87 But android is open source…
@jayrock1987 Why would you want a physical keyboard? It takes up so much unnecessary space AND it’s slower to type on than an on screen keyboard.
Oh my God….its painful to even look at it. I honestly think Android should have developed more before shipping out on a phone, but maybe it wouldn’t have been as successful as it is today if they didn’t ship it out. Google was lucky the market wasn’t saturated. If anybody today released an OS as unpolished as android 1.0 was, they would instantly go out of business.
g1 fucking sucks. i’ve tried 3 batteris now and it only lasts for about 3 hours.
ah good old days ^^ have a Desire now
@Pwned000 shitty…kind of like your moms vagina last night….

Gone from the Droid Market. Why?????
Nice
dose it do 2d barcodes
Does this app work on every android phone with a camera?
i also have a droid and for some reason it wont show up in the market???? someone help pls
This is by far the most impressive barcode scanning App. on the market that I’ve seen. I’m very impressed. All though I CANNOT FIND IT on the android market!
Usually great things that come out like this that blow away all other programs are put on the shelf or charge a lot of money. So I’m very suspicious as to why this program has disappeared.
I would like this app, I have the Droid Mot. can not find it in the market. whats up with that, so tell me how do I get it?????? Cathy
Wow ur amazing man! OPEN SOURCE IS AMAZING IT DOSENT OPEN WINDOWNS IT OPEN DOORS!
unfortunately it relies on standardised bar codes. The US has this…many countries don’t.
boo hoo.
great app though.
I would love to get this app but how or where do I find it Jeff?
The Android Market website still features this app, yet it is absent from the market itself. Where did it go?
this app would work alot better if I could download it, why can’t I down load it?
Why isn;t this on the market anymore?
umm….if it’s so great why is it not on the droid market?
… this would be much cooler if it was actually in the market…
not available for download on droid marketplace
