Do playstation 2 controllers work for the original playstation?

I want to buy this playstation that works fine, but wont come with controllers when I buy it. I do not want to have to buy the additional controllers separate however i will if i have to.

No they do not… Ive tried Before. However, Dualshock Controllers (the Playstation 1 Controllers with analog sticks) will work for the Playstaion 2. They are good but the analog sticks are not as sensitive and the vibration isnt as good as in the Playstation 2 controllers

No, PS2 controllers will not work with the older PS1. You will need to find a PS1 controller.
