Hard Disk Recovery Video

A very interesting video on the Hard Disk recovery Industry. Flicked it from a Youtube..permissions are pending…and in the event the author of this video is any where reading this..please please please issue me a copyright to display this in MY Youtube…:-)

I demonstrate how to upgrade a Macbook hard drive – all the way from cloning the drive using SuperDuper to installing the drive into the machine and booting. Any of these enclosures will work: preview.tinyurl.com This is the one I used, now .99: preview.tinyurl.com

@way2anand there used to be 4 administrators and suddenly, there’s only one, and its called other user. no username or password will accept. what the hell happened?
@metroidfannumber1 – Could you please elaborate on your question. I am not able to comprehend it..
how do you recover data but the hard drive works? (please respond!)
Its great, its good, BUT ITS THE FUCKING PRICE!
@PingVinbot yeah why not give me your soul… in exchange, upon your death you will be in my bottle and kept in hell
1. take the fucking thing out of your computer 2. remove the hard drive cover and remove the hard drive disc’s 3. put the disc’s in to a cd/dvd drive and kaboom!!! the soap scum Is gone I mean there’s your data and back up your file’s I have every thing backed up.
wish they restored my hard disk in December 2003 when I started my computer in the morning to finalise the assignment worth of 2000 EUR. Was planning to send the damn paper that day, instead I spent the entire day running around the city trying to restore the disk. Oh I forgot to mention that I almost died when the message came up the hard disk could not be found!
You can even see that here:

Yep, you are.
Do a search and REsearch before post this kind of stupid comment.
@Gradius0 haha are you retarded? 2TB SSD hahahaha
i would give anything 2 work there
Awesome video. Seens like this is a very interesting job these guys do there. I’m really fascinated about that.
We already have 2TB SSD available right now, the big problem is PRICE !
haha cute
we need to move on from storage like this, its such a pain in the ass to recover when something goes wrong. once flash storage gets past the limits in capacity, we will move on from hard drives. hopefully.
Thank you Piii…but the credits really go to those who made this video. But this makes us realize the potential of Data recovery industry…
OMG..what a superb video.. thanks!
Awesome vid right there
solid state will rule some day, lol
Thank you Pauninggio for the comment.
Alway but the largest external full backup drive for your your PC Period.
Good One
this helped! thanks man!
Which make hard drive would you recommend?
Instead of cloning it, can you use a time machine backup from an external hard drive? Which is easier to do?
Thanks.
can it be upgraded from a 5400 into 7200 disk?
Very interesting and well done till this video completely stop at 4′ 33″ from the start!!!!
I tried few times and it stop at the same time again!!
Why?
You just save me £75 by teaching me how to clone a hard drive. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Great video.
This is so much easier than using Disk Utility. Just for everyone’s information. I just upgraded from a 5 year old 100GB to a brand new 500GB. This video was a great tut.
he look like a neanderthal
Just use this very informative video to upgrade my black macbook’s hard drive and it works flawlessly!! Whatever software you use to clone, just make sure it makes a bootable clone and you good. Superduper worked fine for me and you don;t have to buy the full version to make a BOOTABLE clone. Thanks again for the great and very helpful video.
@SuperSniperAngel its a 13′ on the video
i have a macbook pro 13 inch will this work with my mac
Great video! Just upgraded my macbook with a 500gb 7200 western digital scorpio black. Followed your instructions to major success! However… the 7200 is draining my battery a lot more quickly than I thought it would… But uploading music in serato got noticeably faster! Thanks for the great video!
Great video. I’m looking to upgrade my circo 2007 macbook with a 120 GB HD to a 750 GB HD. I would go up to 1 TB, but I haven’t found a drive with that much space that is compatible with my macbook.
Help, I went from a 160HD to a 500, I cloned it perfectly but the problem is that it only shows the original 100gb free, before I cloned it, it recognizes the 500gb HD but does not show any more free space…what am I missing?
Where did you buy the little black box to clone??and what was the name of the program that you use thanks for the video!!!!!!!!
I used this last year as well as reading about what drive/enclosure works for my macbook (I used 500GB FUJITSU MJA2500BH G2 for the drive and a Rosewill enclosure) on newegg. I don’t remember all the details, but it went fairly smoothly thanks mainly to this video!
I used this last year! Very nice tuorial!
anybody notice his t shirt changing from happy hicking to happy hacking?
Just did this with a 500gb Western digital and rosewill enclosure device. Being new at this, had to use a different youtube video to see how to initialize the hard drive when i first plugged it in to the mac. Disk utility -> erase new drive… this apparently allows it to be recognized by the mac. Then I used carbon copy cloner (free download online) to clone it. Replacing it went well with appropriate screw driver. Slow first boot was nerveracking. Works awesome. Thanks.
I just use the DD command in terminal and backup the dick that way. It copies the old HDD block for block onto the new HDD
@sanjeevp … actually he shows everyone they can do with superduper without purchasing, the cloning
is FREE. Nice tutorial .. only part missing is the formatting drive part, but one of the better tutorials, thx!
so upgrading your HDD only give you more memory, or does it make your computer work better?
so if you back up your files, it also back up all the programs already installed on the old HDD???
i understand that some enclosures will only transfer certain amounts of GB’s, if im correct, would the one your using be able to transfer data from a 120GB HD to a 500GB HD? Im using a Macbook running the latest software
