If your keyboard is not working on start up: Hit delete couple of times to go into the bios. Once on this normally blue screen go through all the options and find the spot to enable your usb keyboard. That should fix your keyboard problem.

For the virus: Try loading windows up and hit ctrl alt delete to get to the task manager and quickly start disabling all the programs(virus) that are eating up your ram and CPU. Once you have your system running with only necessary .exe files get avg and start a scan. You can also manually remove the viruses by Google each one and how to remove them.

Safe mode will allow you to remove viruses easier. It will not load them up on start up so you can work quicker to remove them.

  1. The only way you could do that is if you created a system image of your system. Other than that, your drive will just have the files stored on it with no way to access them. You could also try pressing F12 at startup and trying to boot using that feature or boot from the hard drive at the BIOS. However, if your keyboard isn’t working, then this will not work. You will need a working keyboard to access the BIOS.

    1. Boot into Safe Mode with Networking by pressing F8 during boot
    2. Download Spybot Seach and Destroy from the link below
    3. Install the program
    4. Run the program and this will remove the virus.

This has worked in the past.

If the above does not work, try this:

Use a system repair disk or a Windows installation disk and boot to the recovery console and run system restore. Restore your system to a point prior to you having this issue. Once system restore completes, reboot your computer and your problem will be fixed. If you can’t do that try booting into Safe Mode by pressing F8 and do a virus scan or do a system restore form there. If you don’t have any of those disks, just create one from another computer from the Windows Backup Utility.

  2. Hi,
you need a install disc to repair your OS, do you know you can just borrow a windows install disc ???

To get your system running again please do this:-
Use the “Windows Repair function on the install disk” this works for both XP and Vista
Put your XP or Vista disk into your CD drive and restart your system. This will start the XP installation process. When you come to the screen that asks if you want to install XP select this option, it will then ask you if you would like to “Repair” XP or reinstall XP, choose the Repair option. Windows will then do a windows REPAIR on your OS and repair any errors it finds.
You can also do this, open the repair console command prompt go then at the prompt, enter this “CHKDSK C:/F” (or CHKDSK /F to repair the OS on the default HDD partition e.g. C:). Now hit “Enter”. The repair should now start, it will then scan your drive and fix any errors it finds, it will sometime ask you’re your permission to repair certain files, just click “Yes”. Allow it to run until it stops. This can take some time, so be patient.

If all goes well, XP will replace or repair any and all missing operating system files.

If the system doesn’t boot from the disk press “F12” as it boots up and enter the BIOS to make sure that the boot sequence is set so that the CD drive boots before the hard drive.
If you do not have an XP installation CD, you can borrow one for this operation. Since you are “Repairing” Windows and not “installing” it, you will not be required to supply an installation “Key-Code”.
But please don’t tell MS that I told you ?????

Well you can if you want to.
    hope this helps you

  3. If your computer is so totally..messed up..
    A Clean Re-Install of the OS..is a major FIX..

You might just have hardware issues..
Pull all your PCI-expansion cards–and try to start your PC..
    ===
I would never attempt to operate a computer..without the Software on Disk..
    Its really kinda’ dumb.
