Intel DP55KG Extreme Motherboard Review
Intel has a long history of making processors and motherboards to support those processors. Intel launched their P55 Express chipset and LGA-1156 CPUs earlier this month. Weve already reviewed a few of the boards on the market using this chipset, but havent gotten around to reviewing Intels own reference boards until today. Intel has three models of their P55 motherboards available today including the DP55KG Extreme board on the review bench today, the DP55SB, the DP55WG and the DP55WB media motherboards. Today Im reviewing the reference board that was tested during the initial Core i7 870 and Core i5 750 reviews.

Hey guys i have a HPpavilion a1560n im trying to upgrade it by buying windows 7, GX-750w-cooler master, and a radeon HD 5750, SHould i upgrade the computer or just buy a new one?

It says it has
“Intel® High Definition Audio? subsystem in the following configuration:
* 10-channel (7.1+ 2 independent multi-streaming) audio subsystem with five analog audio outputs and two optical S/PDIF digital audio for input and output using the Realtek * ALC889 audio codec”
And get audio from HDMI is depends upon Graphics card!! <<–I think-upgrade my knowledge if you know more!

awsome card, but depends on which CPU u have, so that u can get the full GTX460 performance…….

I decided “Palit GeForce® GTX460 Sonic Platinum” to buy.(It’s around 15600/- bucks in india-approx 330$).I’m waiting for price comes down.

I’d the same problem(especially playing COD4),I’ve found the solution-that the game or the program automatically change output to ‘Optical’-so If u disable ‘Taking control’ of sound-it’ll not stop in middle.

good vid i have been looking at some boards for a new build i am going with a i5 750 so this will be on my list .Its time to get rid of my pos 955 be and go back to intel the 750 kicks its butt when there both stock or oc. And the 750 uses less power either way . and its nice to be able to run xfire or sli on a board .thanks for the vid it was very helpfull

it’s not good for Home Theater that’s why because don’t support bitstream HD audio (DTS-HD, DDTrueHD) by HDMI, good chipset for Home thatre are H55/57.
which is better the DP55KG or the DX58SO, if I will use i7- 920
why is the 2nd pci-e slot cut in half?
i used this board in 1 of my builds and couldn’t get ati 5750 working, had to result in gtx 260+, anyone know what the reason could be

i have the DP55KG,
i am having problems with my on-board sound, it suddenly stops playing sounds, a restart of the computer fixes it but then suddenly stops playing sounds again.
any one knows why this happens?
So, can use these board for a worksatation? i´m gonna use a PNY nVidia FX video card, for video and photo editing.
i wanna see a short vid on the skull lighting up!
