Q&A: What jobs do the motherboard, processor, and ram do in a computer?
Question by chasm: What jobs do the motherboard, processor, and ram do in a computer?
I know that all of these things determine the speed of the computer, but how do there jobs differ?
How do I determine the difference between a good motherboard or a bad motherboard. Or an i3 vs i5 vs i7?

start on wiki and get a basic idea on how things work then come back with a specific question. ‘how every pc component works and interacts with other parts’ is a little long for a real quality answer…i dont feel like writing two pages.

The processor runs programs, the ram is the memory the programs use and the motherboard is what the processor and the ram are plugged into and let’s them communicate.
The meaning can be found out by simply looking at the words.First look at the word processor. Processor means to process. So, if You open a program then the processor processes it. Processor have different cores. You can get up to 7 cores now days. If the processor is big then it will be easier to handle different tasks. You also need to look at the processor speed.
Ram means the memory for the processing of the computer. If you have more RAM then it will be easier.
Mother board is a board in which there are many things like processor and Ram. Motherboard helps to connect.
Hope this helps..Byee !
