Simbi(1992) RAM is a mizik rasin band based in the city of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The band derives its name from the initials of its founder, songwriter, and lead male vocalist, Richard A. Morse. The band’s music has been described by Morse as “Vodou rock ‘n’ roots”, and has been one of the prominent bands in the mizik rasin musical movement in Haiti. RAM began performing together in 1990, and recorded their first album in 1996. The band’s music incorporates traditional Vodou lyrics and instruments, such as rara horns and petwo drums, into modern rock and roll. The band’s songs include lyrics in Kréyòl, French, and English. hg

Haitian’s stop with the hatred towards your culture it is beautiful, voodoo is a religion just like catholic, protestant, Muslim, Buddhism and so forth. Dont let people tell you it is satanic it is a African religion start in the mother land, but slave mess a lot of black and make them turn against their true religion it is spiritual, isn’t that what god is spirit? You might be right, Although Haiti is also known for abolishing slavery in the Americas, Ayiti was also the first free nation in the Americas to open its door to foreigners being persecuted for their religious, political beliefs and sexual orientation. Our forefathers opened the gate of freedom because they were voodooists and Voodoo is all about of love and harmony.

Let me explain some to you, Just because one does not go to church or just because some are not religious enough, that does not mean that they are not a certain religion. Honey Im catholic, I went to catholic school, I had my communion, and all of the above, and Im not proud of what Im about to tell you. It has been over 5 years since I go to church and believe me when I said no one loves God more than I do. I believe in Christ and I pray to him/her in my heart everyday. Im 100% catholic.
I know what i m saying.I already did my research,that s my job.I worked on this 2 years ago.35% of haitians are protestants.Only 54% practice catholycism.The others don t even go to church,u call that catholicism
I did not have to live in Haiti to know my history or present; one can simply do research before repeating what everyone else is saying. I was born in Haiti and live there for 12 years of my life, i went to school and all that. Now I know what you are trying to say about the decrease of the catholic religion; you see there used to be 90% catholics, but from the late 90’s to up now there are 80% catholics in Haiti. Again do your research
