I want to buy a new external harddisk, but I don’t know what is the best for me. I think i want to buy one with 1 Terabyte capacity.

if you got the money, then go 1 TB. but just make sure it’s a good brand, cos if it dies, you’re effed up. or maybe two 500GB hdd? that’s a good option too.

You want to go with a good brand. I’d really, really suggest Western Digital if you could. I had a Western Digital Elements 1TB external desktop hard drive and it worked great. It will run you over $100 though so if your budget fits that range, then I’d highly recommend it. Seagate is another reliable brand for hard drives so that is another direction you could take. Whichever you decide, search for the best deals on the hard drive you’re looking at. Use http://www.newegg.com and http://www.tigerdirect.com for some great deals. And again, I’d stick with those two brands if you want to sacrifice a little cash for reliability.
