DIY 13.4″ Carbon Fiber Touchscreen Tablet PC – http://carbontablet.blogspot.com/

This is a project I have been working on in my spare time for the last few months. I wanted a Windows 7 touchscreen tablet with a large screen that could handle HD video and wasn’t too thick or power hungry. The build cost for this was around 0-700. I had to sit at a weird angle for filming so I had a couple issues with the touchscreen, but it was only becuase of my odd positioning. The touch responsiveness is acutally pretty good, not iPad good, but good enough for me . Enjoy! Check out my blog for more info carbontablet.blogspot.com

Part one of our video review of the HP TouchSmart tm2-1070US Windows 7 convertible tablet with multi-touch screen. The tm2 has a 12.1-inch display that also works with a stylus for note taking and artwork. In part one, we unbox the notebook, look at the hardware and compare it with the HP TouchSmart tx2z and the HP Envy 15. To read our full review visit: www.mobiletechreview.com

  1. GET.;,A`”FREE`,`IPAD.`:.:.
    ???.????????????.??

  2. @1234fuckubitch
Who cares if an ipad doesn’t lag?
It’s absoletuley useless anyway. With iOS you can’t do anything.
iPads are only good to play games and use facebook in the bathroom…

  3. @GSNRecords Well GSNRecords i think you should record iPad’s functionality. It definitely doesn’t lags, even when you play HD games, it just flows like water. I own one & its smooth like anything.
On other side this device definitely lags EVEN WHEN YOU TYPE SOMETHING.
So GSNRecords why don’t you pay some attention.

  4. Nope. Try paying attention for more than ten seconds.

The pad lags only when loading process heavy programs, like a HD movie or Firefox. Same thing happens to the iShit. Tablets just don’t have the processing power available to them.

  5. hmm the touch screen lags

  6. Hey, how did you make the casing for it?

  7. You really created this?

  8. what does the inside look like?

  9. I want to build one!

  10. How did install a mobile battery pack?

  11. its too large! from looking at the keyboard the only way you can type one this it by lying it down then typing because you cant hold it and type with both hands… :(

  12. @wsimard

it’s default in Windows 7 when you have a touch screen installed.

  13. i see only one problem…where is ubuntu?

  14. @slampana what on-screen keyboard software are you using ?

  15. You should make loads of these and sell them. Why? Because you would OWN Apple.
iPad = Early Tiger Electronics handheld.
    This thing = PSP.

  16. I have Windows 7 on my laptop and I tried the on-screen keyboard. It doesn’t look like yours and I can’t hide it to the side of the screen like you did. What did you do ?

  17. @Naxxlax Dude, the first tablet PC was made at least 20 years ago and this is just another tablet PC. Just like the iPad is. Nice try, macfag

  18. @Naxxlax Yeah, even though the first tablet PC was made at least 20 years ago

  19. better than cheap ipad copys :D

  20. ewww resistive touchscreen

  21. is it multi-touch?
where did u get the screen from?

  22. only a resistive touchscreen they should build it with a compassative touch screen like the ipads ipods and iphones.

  23. check out mine! /watch?v=S6ZX4LuRpAA

  24. @Fhajad screen is 1366×768. not 1080. maybe the youtube video was set to stream at 1080, but it would downscale.

  36. meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeoooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  37. can’t you see, cats are like children, they want to play with the box!

  38. @lizzkitt3h
Better than Crapafee, which most of the computers at my college had, and then didn’t work because of it,

  39. @GodlessFurry Norton?? …..ew

  40. Missing some info here, which Tx2 is that? Because the older ones, had the glossy screen. Only the newer ones had the matte.

  41. Yay Kitty <3

Anyways I dropped by to say don’t buy this product. It’s sweet until the screen breaks. I got mine on boxing day, and the screen will not respond on wednesday (16 days after purchase). Good thing I got a refund, but I don’t want to deal with hp EVER AGAIN. Okay, rant it over, have a nice day =)

  42. Your cat is very very beautiful and cute! congratulations!

  43. @CsOmarY why thank you :)

  44. nice

  45. thank you , you’re awesome :)

  46. @DonPBeast16 its really good but way too sensitive it could break anyway i hae a little hole in te screem :p

  47. just to let u guys know..HP dont allow customization in UK..so sad..I asked them they said no, I also phoned HP US they said they are not allowed to deliver to UK =(, was gonna buy one off ebay but read a few bad exp people had with the guy selling it so I just bought one direct from HP UK..wish they wouldve let me upgrade the processor lol

  48. WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY BETTER THAN THE FAGPAD BY APPLE

  49. best tablet ever. it beats apple’s iTampon. My old computer would take one hour to scan 800,000 files with norton. the tm2t can do 2.5 million files with norton in just 30 minutes. I highly recommend the i5 option.

  50. sounds like Michael Cera lol
