@randysaborio
Yes you are correct.
My point is that it is 2011…pushing 2012 and computer makers are still ALMOST GETTING IT RIGHT. I’m just frustrated because this laptop would be PERFECT for my needs if it had a SSD, Blu-ray, hot swappable battery. It is the first laptop that I know of that has ALL USB 3.0, bluetooth 3.0, DisplayPort, Backlit keyboard, WiDi, etc.
GREAT LAPTOP BUT…
1. NO SSD Option! and if you put one in yourself it voids the warranty!
2. NO Blu-ray Option! Come on! A laptop of this caliber should come with the blu-ray drive as a standard.
3. NO Hot swappable battery! So in 3 years when the battery FAILS you have to send it in to Dell and wait 2 weeks and pay over $150 for a new one…NO THANKS!
THIS LAPTOP HAD A CHANCE TO BEAT APPLE BUT IT FALLS SHORT IN THESE 3 AREAS. WHEN WILL SOMEONE MAKE A TRULY GREAT LAPTOP? STILL WAITING…
I read on a forum that the bottom is completely sealed. You can’t change battery, can’t change HDD and can’t change Memory. Everything stays the way it is till it dies. So if you’re outside of warranty you’re screwed!
Dell cannot beat Apple’s image as the premium brand, but Dell can TRY to out-spec the Ma line- which it has not done yet, but I wait to see if they do. Currently, for PC, go VAIO. I trust them the most. Anything else, go Mac. I live by these rules and never get disappointed.
Hey all my fellow MacFans calm down, he said thinnest “PC” laptop on the planet. Because I was about to hit him upside his head with my aluminum body 15″ Macbook Pro and slap some sense into him.
Love it. Sorry macbook pro lovers, but this things specs blow macs away. Then again, what’s new there? Stock specs for xps 15z: turbo boost to 2.9 GHz. 6 GB RAM. 500 GB HDD at 7200 RPM. Great graphics (look up Nvidia GT 525 on here, pretty amazing stuff). oh, and better optional screen res. 1080. More tech stuffed in here than a mac. nuff’ said.
@artxenocYT I’m sorry but factually that comment made extremely little sense… If you’re talking about for you and what you plan on using now and in the future, then sure… as a whole… you have it precisely backwards…
=P
We used a quote from the Dell rep saying it’s the thinnest. I’m curious what you all think though about the laptop’s features? Not really a breakthrough product.
Who the fuck watches forbes? Forbes is the dumbest channel on youtube to date. Shitty 2:38 minute videos that are biased as fuck. Prententious as well…
BLU RAY IN THE PHILIPPINES WE DONT NEED BLU RAY WE CAN HAVE A FAKE BLU RAY SAME AS THE ORIGINAL BUT IN LOWER PRICE

Worlds thinnest 15 inch PC laptop.
…..no, Windows cannot defeat MAC. only thing that’s close of being called as ‘competitor’ is the Linux community. that’s it!
I Hope Dell leave that Dell-Microsoft marriage and start selling FREE (libre) PCs.
Anyways, I love Dell. (Studio 14-user)

@heltok it’s thinner when both the macbook pro and the 15z are open
